DATA ENTRY

For people who don’t want to engage with potential voters, data entry is the perfect job as a volunteer on a political campaign. Basically, the job involves taking information about the campaign or voters and entering it into a database.

Data entry is known for being a tedious job, but it shouldn’t be thankless. In other words, the campaign and volunteer managers should make sure to set aside plenty of time for volunteers who are assisting with data entry to interact with others working on the campaign.

Some data entry jobs even allow volunteers to head out into the community. According to Ben Holse, senior account manager for the Campaign Workshop, “There are a number of campaign tools now available that can help reduce the amount of data that you have to enter at the end of the day. The technology exists for canvassers to enter data on their smartphones or tablets while they are canvassing.”
